A protective cover for a lifting device which may be rolled to a position under an object to effect lifting thereof, and a method of utilizing the cover. The lifting device is particularly useful in the lifting of human patients as it accomplishes lifting by a rolling action without sliding action between the patient and the exterior of the lifting device. It comprises a hollow member of flexible material with a recess running from end to end entirely through the member and a driving stick for driving the hollow member. (54) LIFTING DEVICE The invention relates to medical technology, namely to vehicles. A lifting device is known which contains an inflatable roller Cl. However, this device requires a lot of effort when lifting, and the inflatable roller is exposed to contamination. The purpose of the invention is to facilitate the patient's ascent, as well as to prevent the inflatable roller from becoming contaminated. This goal is achieved by the fact that the roller is made with an internal through channel for inserting the rod when the patient is lifted, and the internal surface of the roller is covered with silicone. In addition, the device is equipped with a protective cover, made in the form of a bag, the length of which is the length of the roller. The lifting device comprises an elaotic inflatable roller 1 with a hood 2 for supplying air. The roller is made with an internal through channel 3 and provides - with a protective cover 4, which is made in the form of a bag with one open end 5, while its length exceeds the length of the roller 1, In addition, the device is equipped with a rod 6 with holes to secure the blind end 7 of the protective cover 4 and end 8 with a thickening of the 9 roller. To impart stability when moving the roller, its supporting surface can be strengthened with an additional layer 1O of an elastic band (flash 9).
